Christian Kurtz

Christian is 22 years old and since 2009 student of Politics and Economics at Muenster University. Currently he is involved in different Model United Nations initiatives in Germany.

In 2005 he started becoming active in different political simulation. Through Model United Nations he made his way to UNYA Germany. As spokesman Christian wants to spread his expertise in cooperating with different UN related youth initiatives and seeks to foster the exchange in the German UN network.

„The UN-idea is idealistic. It is exactly this idealism that we need to shape our common future.“ For Christian, youth’s participation in society is therefore of great importance. No matter if they are active in MUN initiatives or UNYA Germany, he wants to support young people who are already active or want to realize creative new ideas.

Tjalke Weber

Tjalke is 21 years old, born and raised in the North-West of Germany and studies German-Italian Studies in Bonn since October 2009. Besides her studies, she works in the Italian Center and is involved in the local church as well as different Model UN initiatives.

Since she participated in the OLMUN (Oldenburg) for the first time in 2006, Tjalke has been fascinated by the idea of political simulations to introduce the idea and working methods of the UN to young people. That is why she has been involved in different MUN Conferences, recently as Secretary-General of the BIMUN/SINUB Conference 2010 in Bonn.

Tjalke is part of JUNON since summer 2009. She is sold on the idea of groups connecting each other: “I am convinced that MUN initiatives can reach their aim only by an intense cooperation: To promote the work of the UN among the public, especially students.”

Tjalke is committed to promoting exchange and cooperation between the different MUN groups in order to intensify their activities – on a local, regional and international level.
