14.12.2011
Dear Prospective elbMUN Participant,
It’s time again: The “Model United Nations” by the Elbe enters the third round. From April 17th until April 21st 2012, a group of students from the Technical University of Dresden is presenting elbMUN 2012. This simulation of a UN conference in English takes place in Saxon State Parliament, under the patronage of its President Dr Matthias Roessler and brings more than 170 committed students from all over the world to the beautiful city of Dresden.
You can expect challenging debates within the Security Council, Economic and Social Council as well as within two General Council committees. Assuming the role of a UN diplomat, you will represent the country you have chosen and give speeches according to procedural standards. Together with other delegations, you will form a coalition, as well as elaborate and pass resolution concepts.
Agenda topics include the Arab Spring, Land Grabbing, Human Rights within Islam, Demilitarization and many more.
To get in touch with and interact with other participants, broaden your horizons, and have fun during this intercultural exchange beyond the confines of the conference, we offer you a wide and varied program: guest speakers from international political arenas, an exciting experience in Dresden’s world cultural heritage as well as social events such as the “Night of Cultures”, a bonfire and the final elbMUN ball.
For more information concerning the Model UN topics, the agenda of the conference, accommodations and registration, please refer to the following website at www.elbmun.org. Or just send an e-mail to info[at]elbmun[dot]org. We also offer assistance to students from outside of Europe in obtaining a visa. Please take a look at our website as well.
Online registration is activated now!
We are looking forward to meeting you,
The entire team of elbMUN 2012
